We're Going Down Under

January 19, 2015

We can hardly believe that in just 3 days we leave for our Cruise of Australia and New Zealand. This is our third attempt at this journey. In 2012 and 2013 we were forced to cancel our bookings for medical reasons. This time nothing is stopping us.

We arrive in Sydney on Saturday morning, and will spend 3 days touring, before we board Celebrity Solstice on Tuesday. Sunday we will take an excursion to the Blue Mountains. Monday is Australia Day.We will stay in the city, and have booked a dinner cruise on the harbor for views of the fireworks from the water. Many others on the Cruise Critic Roll Call for this journey have also booked the dinner cruise.

This will be our first voyage on Celebrity as we have been dedicated Holland America cruisers. We will be starting out on a new line with a larger ship, 2850 passengers, and no special perks. We will have 46 days to see how we like Celebrity. We know we will miss the free laundry perk we have on Holland America.

This is our ship
